The Mitsubishi Evo won’t be a mass market car, nor will it be produced here. It would definitely be Imported to India as a CBU (completely built unit). HM-Mitsubishi is looking at selling less than a hundred units each year. Sources seem to suggest that while there is no official declaration about whether the louder and faster FQ versions will be coming to India as well, it suffices to say that even the base Evo X is more than capable of trouncing the pants off any of the powerful German luxury saloons, and even baby Porsches.
Sure, a Mitsubishi badge in all probability will not be able to make a dent in any of the German badges in terms of sales figures, but the enthusiast market in the country will surely lap this car up faster than the company can ship it to India. We, at ZigWheels, for one are very excited about the Evo and will keep bringing you regular updates as and when more details become available.
