MARUTI CERVO – THE SUCCESSOR TO THE MARUTI 800
Maruti Suzuki India Limited being the largest small car maker in India is suppose to launch the all new “MARUTI SUZUKI CERVO” after the SAD DEMISE of the Maruti 800 after stricter Euro IV norms came into place w.e.f . 01/04/2010. Maruti has been working behind closed doors to launch the Maruti Cervo wihin a matter of days to replace the desi bread and butter model, the Maruti 800 and also to compete with Tata Nano.Maruti Suzuki, with the launch of CERVO is expecting to gain marketshare in the country in the small car segment that they had lost due to cut throat competition from Hyundai i10, GM Spark, the recently launched Beat, Tata Indica, and even Ford now joining the fray with the Figo. Maruti is also stated to launch their facelifted models of the Maruti Alto and WagonR respectively within a matter of days, at the same old price, not altering so as to keep up to the competition. The WagonR has been facelifted a bit from the front end itself and does not get any major upgrades, whereas the Alto has seen slight modifications to its exteriors as well. The Cervo however is the model which has been in the pipeline and would be here anytime soon.
