Yamaha introduced three new bikes (YAMAHA SZ, SZX & YBR125)  in the Indian market yet again to consolidate its position in the mass market bike segment where Hero Honda still leads the pack, followed by Bajaj and Honda respectively. The sharp lines of the SX series is quite breeze to look at specially in the all-black paint combo. The Yamaha SZ will be available in two colors – Black and Red while SZ-X will be available in three colors – Black, Red and Grey Metallic. However the YBR 125  is a 123cc four-stroke bike mated to a four-speed gearbox which will be available in three colors – Red, Black and Black-Red with an Ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs. 47,000. Yamaha has been striving hard to gain market share in the already crowded mass commuter bike segment where the rivals have been there for decades together. The Current market Share of Yamaha is up to 10 per cent by 2012 from 3 per cent.

  2. new SZ and SZ-X is an all-new 4-Stroke air-cooled, SOHC single cylinder with 153cc engine that has been tuned for optimum performance i.e. Extra Power in the low to mid-speed range thereby ensuring a stress-free ride on Indian roads. The bikes are equipped with AI System and a large-capacity muffler with catalyzer for cleaner exhaust. The bikes flaunt some cutting edge design structures like the headlight cowl with 3-dimensional slanting line which along with a sporty fender with split look enhances the look of bikes. There is a large capacity 14L fuel tank which gives the ability to go Extra Mile. The long cushioned seat ensures comfortable riding position enabling a straighter back and Extra Comfort while commuting long distances. SZ-X is also equipped with some of the finest technologies like electric starter and a windscreen to cut inward air swirl, thus making a hassle free riding experience for the rider.

Adding to SZ and SZ-X charisma are the sophisticated meter panel, shroud with dynamic image, modern look dual tail lights, full plastic chain case (gives protection from dust & water), robust side cover and 5-spoke cast wheel.

  4. Yamaha obviously has been a very old player, when you come to their bikes in the Indian Market right from the RX100 days, and Yamaha bikes are built to last. The bikes which they have introduced in the Indian Market like the FZ, Fazer have become hot sellers here, and the SZ and SZX too would be the liking of the customer. If a guy likes a Yamaha, he would go and buy it, or else there is always a HH or a Pulsar in every segment to bet on his money. We at Everise Motors think that Yamaha is a Global brand and we are sure this time around they are here to win the hearts of the youngsters with their fabulous collection of bikes, ranging from 100 to 1000cc. Keep visiting Everise Motors for more updates on all Cars and Bkes.

  6. the new SZ-X is an all-new 4-Stroke air-cooled, SOHC single cylinder with 153cc engine that has been tuned for optimum performance i.e. Extra Power in the low to mid-speed range thereby ensuring a stress-free ride on Indian roads, while the SZ too is the same mill, but the main Difference Between Yamaha SZ-X Vs Yamaha SZ is that the SZ-X looks little better (totally subjective) and has an Electric Start in SZ-X, and kickstart as an option, and its just the Manual kick type in SZ. Overall, the engine and the specs are just the same, while SZ-X is little taller with more color options in SZ-X.

  9. The top speed of Yamaha SZ-X is 105 kmph

    Comment by EVERISE MOTORS — November 22, 2010 @ 5:08 am

  10. The mileage of the SZZ as per the company is around 65-70 kmpl, but during actual conditions, the yamaha szx would give you around 58km on the highway while in the city it could vary between 50 and 55 kmpl

  11. I want to know which is better option SZ-X or Honda Shine.I need to use it for city traffic. My budget is max 60k

    Comment by Rohit — November 24, 2010 @ 12:54 am

  12. Honda Shine too is a good bike, but has a capacity of 125cc and is basically just a commutter like the HH passion. the SZX on the other hand is a newly launched bike with good quality, handling and superior quality, and would fetch you more miles than the Shine. so we suggest you to go for the Yamaha SZ-X

  13. sir, discover, being a 125 cc bike will reach 120kmph in highways, then how come the yamaha szx’s top speed is just 105kmph… can i get a perfect clarification please….

  14. hi guys recently i bought sz-x ,
till now iam using good old crux-r,which has clocked 1.25 lakhs sill didnt get engine bored n gives me 60+ mileage,
so having a good experience with my old byke i simply choose sz-x without any doubts, n yamaha really stood on their word,

about my new bike– it driven 287kmas of now mileage not yet checked , engine refinement is quiet far from the competitors,
handling is like heaven in the hyd traffic,
i rode few of 150 bikes of my friends, the uniq in szx is simple to maneaour n nimble on the road,
seating comfort is the best in 150cc segment i can say,
paint finish n fit n finish are typical yamaha no indian bike can reach to it,

i firmly adivse anybody who r looking for 125cc/150cc bike can go to szx without any second thought.

    Comment by Sathi — April 24, 2011 @ 3:40 pm

  25. Indeed yes Sathi.. Yamaha has come down with a bang this time around, with great bikes from their portfolio which includes, the fazer, the fz, R15, the SZ-R, etc.. the bike which you have bought is the best lookin of the lot, and is more of a quality product. Its way ahead of its competition from Hero honda’s passion, passion pro, hunk, cbz extreme. Good Choice…
